Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner of the Jammu Municipal Corporation along with concerned officers and officials of JMC, today visited Greater Kailash Colony and held an interaction with members of the Greater Kailash Welfare Society (G.K.W.S.) regarding various civic issues being faced by the residents of the area.
During the visit, members of the Welfare Society submitted a detailed representation highlighting several long-pending concerns related to sanitation, drainage, road infrastructure, garbage collection, stray dog menace, maintenance of parks and fountains, repair of mast lights, and water logging along the main road near Kaluchak.
The Society particularly emphasized the urgent need for reconstruction and upgradation of the old drainage system, repair of damaged internal lanes, regular cleaning of by-lanes, and installation of an entry barrier near the Volkswagen showroom to restrict the movement of heavy vehicles causing damage to roads and public infrastructure.
The issue of vacant plots being used for garbage dumping and unauthorized occupation was also raised. Members further demanded immediate maintenance of parks, proper lane numbering, and improved waste management through public awareness initiatives.
Dr. Yadav patiently heard the grievances and concerns of the residents and assured the members of the Greater Kailash Welfare Society that all the works and issues highlighted in the representation would be taken up on priority and expedited in a phased and systematic manner.
He reiterated the commitment of the Jammu Municipal Corporation towards improving civic amenities, sanitation infrastructure, public cleanliness, and overall urban development across the city. He also emphasized the importance of active public participation and cooperation in maintaining cleanliness and civic discipline within residential colonies.
The members of the Welfare Society expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for personally visiting the area, listening to the concerns of residents, and assuring timely action on the issues raised.
